A report from Terry Weeks on the Alex Savill’s “A” Test acheivement:
The Alton Silent Fliers are pleased to report that our Junior Alex Savill (12) passed his “A” test on the 2nd September following instruction throughout the last year by Terry Pelling club instructor / examiner. Club examiner Tony Ridler undertook the test.
The top picture shows Alex under the initial instruction from Tony explaining what was expected of him during the test, prior to this Alex had been asked and answered successfully the required questions.
The second picture was Terry Weeks launching the model as instructed by Alex and the adjacent picture the regainging of height following the low pass. All in all the test was conducted with the model under full control at all times to everyones satisfaction.
A delighted Alex on being informed that he had passed the test successfully
Then came his final surprise, Terry Pelling, Alex’s instructor, had asked the ASF members for donations of any unwanted items that would be useful to set Alex up for the immediate future. This resulted in a marvelous response As can be seen below, the items included two models, a tool box, a transmitter, some batteries and several other bits and pieces. Seen pictured below.
A truly rewarding day for all concerned. Terry Weeks Club Secretary & S A BMFA ACE.
